{Note this is not a sponsorship of any kind. I purchased the capture card with my own money. This channel has no connection to either Amazon or the seller "DODODUCK". }
*I was looking for a cheap backup capture device for my Elgato HD and I found this on Amazon. I decided to give it a shot and see if it was any good.
*The listing states "zero latency" and a selling point so i decided to test that out. All gameplay was performed by viewing the OBS preview window only. I did not look at a second monitor. The latency isn't "zero" but it isn't a big issue. More of a slightly sluggish feel. Not the ideal way to play a fast paced multiplayer/ or precise timing games but general single player games should be fine.
*Recording quality is acceptable is compatible with OBS. Its a little fussy at times, sometimes got to disconnect and restart obs to get it to work right but considering the price its bearable.
*After placing order I relieved the item in about a week. So at least for me it wasn't a case of getting it shipped from overseas and having to wait a month for it.
*As you can see at the end of the video the device is totally unbranded and probably produced in bulk and sold to various retail channels. It can with a small capture card, usb cable, power cable (no plug adapter though) and a manual that doesn't really say much. The build quality is plastic and feels about as cheap as it cost but it works. You might not want to drop it much though. NOT SUPPLIED: you'll need to have your own hdmi cables. 1 if you are only using a single monitor to view and play on. 2 cables if you want to out to different monitor then the one attached to the system that is recording.
*The listing states a max fps output of 30fps at 1080p but you can still set OBS to record at 60 if you want. However 720p 60fps felt smoothest.
*Listing says the device should work fine with streaming. I don't stream so I didn't test though I have no reason to believe it wouldn't work.
****Recording was doesn't on a separate pc from the one where the game was played. The first video in each game is was done with Relive to show it running on OBS. The second in each game shows the actual recording from OBS via the capture card.
****This is meant to be used with 2 Desktops or Laptops. One for playing the game and the other for recording. If your intent is to play and record on the same system; DO NOT BUY THIS! it won't be any different than just installing the OBS using that to record. The device just passes the video signal to your pc so that you can use a program to record that signal.
****This type of item is meant for someone who has a pc that can game well enough but isn't strong enough to game and record without a noticeable hit in performance or if your just unhappy with the quality compromises you have to make in order to make playing recording/streaming viable.
