In this video I take a look at ELDERBORN,* a first person hack'n'slash action fantasy game.

The first thing that strikes you when you start this game is the wide angle lens, it's all played like that and I momentarily thought it must be a VR game but it isn't and playing from that perspective gave it a fresh feel from other first person games. That, the art style, the hard core rock music, the hack'n'slash combat, this game is pure rock'n'roll. It's one of the more impressive games I have played in quite a while.
The combat is punishing and it's easy to end up back at a check point after dying so you need to play it smart but there are quite a few checkpoints and you also fill a health injector as you slay enemies. The balance felt great as I would often just make it through a stage making the game all that more exciting. The map design is also off the planet with spiralling stone stairs up the side of massive chasms or hidden tunnels that need sledge hammers to open it's all quite impressive to play. Basically I love the design and feel and I love the gameplay. Don't miss this title.
Full disclosure, I did end up outside the map at one stage due to a glitch but I re-spawned at the checkpoint and it never happened again.
