In this video I practiced a chiaroscuro sphere exercise using conte. Essentially conte is a little chalk pastel that gives you dark or light values; the conte I have is black and white. A chiaroscuro sphere helps for people to gain an understanding for value control, which is important for gaining depth in your pieces. In my personal opinion, if you understand where to use what value people might have to take a double take on your art because it might look really realistic; like a picture.

I have made quite a few chiaroscuro spheres so unfortunately for all of you I didn’t fail miserably, but if you want to watch me fail just look at some of my other videos. I feel like some people just watch YouTube to watch others fail, it’s kind of funny.

Nonetheless, I will link a few videos in this description, so you can click on them if you are curious to see more of my work!
