Woo! This one felt really good to clear because it was one of the first shmups I ever played years ago. I remember the feeling of accomplishment years ago just struggling to make it to the stage 4 boss. Now I can clear it.

I still suck pretty hard at getting inside the power-up triangles to get all 3 power-ups and the bonus scores. I think I managed it 1 or 2 times in this run at least lol. To be fair, this game is actually intended to run at 55 fps apparently and since my laptop is an old potato I could only put the fps down to 50 which would have been easier than intended so I said screw it went with the slightly more challenging frame rate. Also apparently this version is still missing slowdown. As I show here it's manageable, but some of the fast micrododing on the bosses is quite harrowing!

But yeah this game is legendary. A doujin (indie) shmup from the 90s made for the Sharp x68000 PC at a time when game making applications that let you bypass a lot of coding were not a thing. This game was made by 1 guy and he's added to it over the years. For starters, the replay feature is new in this version, as well as the internal autofire, and the background used to be only 1 repeating image but he updated that as well.

It would have been nice to have a level select mode for practice. Things can get spicy in the later game if you die and lose your power-ups. I had to do things old school and just use continues to learn the final "stage 0."

Apparently it takes 2 loops of this game to get to the TLB and yeah I'm not doing that any time soon. Still. Happy with this little 1-ALL of this classic banger.
