Axes have helped build (literally) most of the world. While there are many modern tools that have replaced the axe in recent years - having a solid axe is still an invaluable tool (the skills to use it help as well). I've used axes or a number of years, and like most things I get into, I try a lot of them out and figure out what really works or me. In this video I weed through a bunch of my axes (starting with a bunch of axes that I've already widdled down to ones that I like and use) to help narrow a daunting list of axes down to a few that might fit the bill.
There isn't anything quite as versatile as an axe that can handle so many woodworking needs, be used as an effective defensive weapon, give you a great work out, and just be a joy to own. Hope this video helps!
