We now have news that another WotC dev has left (retired?), and that is Chris Cao. He had a history with MTG Arena and more recently was involved with Project Sigil. Could his leaving have anything to do with Project Sigil being shuttered or perhaps it was due to some package being offered to senior employees, or maybe a combination of both?
