Finally! This took some time to complete but here it is. This is the final part of the Chrono Trigger medley I started months ago. I tried to pick songs styles that where much different from each other. Robo's Theme is an upbeat pop song while the next song, Corridor of Time, is relaxing and melodic. Undersea Palace was one of my favorites to record. I loved adding the layers of synths and guitar harmonies over Michelle's powerful piano part. The Final Battle turned out much different then I had first imagined. I originally didn't have any guitars at all. It was a simple bass, synth, and drum song. It wasn't until I was messing around on guitar while listening to the Final Battle that I recorded what you hear now. I kept the drums pretty true to the original songs but I knew I wanted to do something special with the main theme. Adding the layers of snare drum and other percussion was way too addicting. I would have added more but my garageband informed me that I had reached the maximum number of tracks for the song... whoops.
I was lucky to have Michelle Heafy collaborate with me this time. This is her favorite video game soundtrack and she knows all of these songs by heart so recording them was no problem for her. Adding her piano to these song made an insane difference! If you haven't seen her videos stop what you're doing any look her up now! She's amazing! She was the first person I ever collaborated with too!
Now that i'm finished with this project I can finally move on!!! I've added many new songs to my list over the past year. The first song I plan to do next year is a Zelda or GoldenEye song. I hope everyone is having a nice holiday and I'll see you next year! Thanks for watching!
Original music composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu.
