Circuit tutorial in the Cessna 172
In this video we're looking at circuits - traffic patterns - in the Cessna 172, from takeoff to touchdown. The Cessna 172 is an easy aircraft to overlook. What could I possibly get out of flying such a slow, under powered aircraft? The fact is the slowness of the aircraft is actually a virtue, and the aircraft can teach many things. Try taking the aircraft out, pitching and trimming for a specific airspeed, practise coordinated turns, then return the aircraft back to level flight and not how the trimmed aircraft returns to its previous state. Learning how to pitch and trim for specific airspeeds is foundational to flying not just the Cessna 172, but so many civil and military aircraft.
