Civilization VI Game of the Month: Head of Cyrus Attempts 4 and 5
0I attempt the Head of Cyrus Challenge, available from February 13th to March 12th! Play as Tomyris and take out Cyrus of Persia or else!
Attempt 4 goes awry quickly as an attempt to stop Cyrus from settling a city closer to Akkad goes poorly and I am forced to restart quickly.
In attempt 5, I change up my strategy, deciding to move my original settler closer to Akkad before settling. With my capital closer to Akkad and Pasargadae I am able to establish a line of cities that create a route through the mountains to Persian territory. Using this route I pour my city's production into melee units like Spearmen and Swordsmen, and swarm Persia quickly with strong units. Saka Horse Archers are used as a sniping unit and as distractions to allow my swordsmen to attack the city at will. Archers are utilized to weaken city defenses while leftover Spearmen and Warriors hold ground on Persia's encampments and Wonder productions, sealing my victory.
