It was allegedly written for a 5-cap bet at Fort Constantine on January 2257 and performed the next night at the local music hall. Now commonly called "It's a Long Way to Salt Town", the original printed music calls it "It's a Long, Long Way to the Commonwealth". It became popular among soldiers in the First Dave War and is remembered as a song of that war. This is the Frontier version of the song, and this video is a tribute to the "Blackthroneboys" - NCR Soldiers who fought in the First Dave War.
