A good 8-bit game like this deserves a decent speedrun (and a European release...).
About the run: I tap the d-pad left or right when moving while wearing the boots to make them last a little longer. To get the teleport spell you need to reach 200 force points first. Force flasks and jet packs are not possible to buy until the 4th shop call. I acquire the teleport spell at the hermit's place and call the shop twice there to get jet pack and be able to teleport after the 3rd boss fight (green guy). Teleport costs 60 force points and micro power costs 50.
The death at the demon is mandatory and no mistake.
My route in this run is very force sensitive and a little cash sensitive in terms of enemy killing, and killing less enemies would be troublesome in terms of enough force points for teleports. Enemy drops follow a fixed pattern, no drops are random, and the run has more or less no randomness involved. The game shop menu is really laggy, except that you can hold the d-pad in one direction "across lines" to move fast, do not tap the d-pad in the shop menu unless you actually have to.
I improved my pb time from 24:49 to 24:07 in one day, so I'm fully aware that this run can be faster, but I would prefer to concentrate on other projects now. Hope you find it enjoyable.
