Zelda II All Keys speedrun, played on NES 24.08.15. I believe this time brings me from 13th to 4th in the Zelda II Leaderboard for this category. Top 2 are both sub 1h 16m and not for me, never. As the category title indicates, you need to collect all the palace keys in this category, along with all items and spells.

I had some trouble in the Island Palace, the skulls drained my magic 52:49 so I didn't have enough left to cast the jump spell in the upcoming falling bricks room at 53:40. It has never happened to me before, but these kind of surprises typically happen if you have a good run going in this game. Thankfully, the blue bot gave me a magic jar drop, and not a 50 points experience bag 53:18. The scientific probability of getting the experience bag drop is said to be 1/8 there, but I know better from experience, and I'm sure the probability was at least 50/50 - The game always tries to feck you up, especially if you've made a small mistake beforehand. So I was really lucky there. The experience bag drop from the red ironknuckle at 53:11 was expected, and probably a 0 % probability for a magic jar drop there, even though it's said to be a 50/50 chance. The hesitation there was from planning to refill my magic, by levelling magic to 4, if all else failed. It sure wouldn't have helped to cast the Fire spell.

I did a small mistake bringing up the Reflect spell instead of the Fairy spell at the mage in Darunia Town 42:06, and man, I could only start to imagine what kind of sick punishment the game was about to dish out then, 42:33 etc. I know the random enemy encounters move like heat seeking missiles, that's all you need to know about them. You really need to be on your toes and prepare for the worst when you make small mistakes like that Reflect/Fairy spell set-up. This game shows you no mercy.
