The third phase of the Hues Of The Violet Garden event in Irodori Festival is called "Clash Of Lone Blades" and it's a combat-type game mode. A new mechanic called "Parry" will be introduced here which is basically avoiding damage by meeting your opponent's attack with your own counterattack at the same time. To unlock this mode, you have to first complete True Tales Of The Violet Garden: Act III in Legends of the Kasen and talk to certain martial artists in designated areas.
Inside the arena, you can't use any elemental skill or burst but you can immediately activate the new Parry skill. The traveler will make a defensive stance (thereby effectively decreasing damage taken) and then unleash the parry counterattack when the opponent strikes. This way, players can earn stacks of Valor which will guarantee that the next hit done will be a critical strike and its damage increases based on the stacks of valor consumed. Timing your parry perfectly can be done by observing the opponent's blades as they will shine brightly before a honed technique is unleashed.
