Christ Sakes: Another SHADOW OF THE BEAST Gameplay Video
Shadow of the Beast is a platform game developed by Reflections and published by Psygnosis in 1989. The original version was released for the Amiga, and was later ported to many other systems. The game was known for its graphics, with many colours on screen and up to twelve levels of parallax scrolling backdrops, and for its atmospheric score composed by David Whittaker that used high-quality instrument samples.
It was followed by two sequels, Shadow of the Beast II in 1990 and Shadow of the Beast III in 1992. A remake was released for the PlayStation 4 in May 2016, and included the Amiga original.
The core gameplay of Shadow of the Beast is that of a basic action side-scroller, with the most notable exception perhaps being that the game is not divided into levels, but rather into one large map. The player guides Aarbron through the world, fighting monsters of varying frequency with a small variety of attacks, which is slowly improved upon over the course of the game; Aarbron starts the game by punching enemies, eventually using attacks like fireballs and even a laser gun, each with their own set of basic pros and cons. The gameplay mostly alternates between traversing vast expanses of mostly flat terrain accompanied by a wide range of scenery (which takes up a significant portion of the game, and has led to some criticism[citation needed]), and fighting groups of hostile monsters, similar to a beat-em-up game. At spaced-out, fixed points in the world, the player will encounter a boss, which must be defeated in order to proceed further.

The Commodore 64, also known as the C64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced in January 1982 by Commodore International (first shown at the Consumer Electronics Show, January 7–10, 1982, in Las Vegas). It has been listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-selling single computer model of all time, with independent estimates placing the number sold between 12.5 and 17 million units. Volume production started in early 1982, marketing in August for US$595 (equivalent to $1,670 in 2021). Preceded by the VIC-20 and Commodore PET, the C64 took its name from its 64 kilobytes (65,536 bytes) of RAM. With support for multicolor sprites and a custom chip for waveform generation, the C64 could create superior visuals and audio compared to systems without such custom hardware.
