Continuing on with my own personal interests of reliving my Doom 3 days, today I upload for you a quick video of E1M1 from Classic Doom. No, I don’t simply mean the first Doom game, I actually mean there’s a mod called ‘Classic Doom’. For those living on Mars (already?!!) that have never heard of this before, it’s a total conversion that will turn your game into a remake of the original from the 90s. To sum up, you’ll be playing the original maps from Knee Deep In The Dead but now in the realistic Doom 3 environment. Or to put it another way - ID got it wrong and this is how the Doom 3 experience should have been from day one!
Okay, I’m sure most have played this mod already? You won’t find yourself bored in annoyingly dark maps with repetitive gameplay – this is DOOM with a slap of Doom 3’s visual gloss! It’s always been a favourite of mine and I’d like to share this video with you all and perhaps it’ll revive your interest to re-play or maybe it’s new to some of you out there? Either way, get it installed as this is a great mod that any Doom fanatic will love! I know I did!
Okay, as with most things Doom 3, installation of this mod is a breeze. Just unzip and copy the mod's folder into this location:
/Users/YOU/Library/Application Support/Doom 3
Load up Doom 3 and click on the MODS button :)
