Classic Game Room reviews STEEL EMPIRE for Sega Genesis from Flying Edge, Acclaim and Hot B, a 1992 side scrolling shoot 'em up with a blimp! Steel Empire is called Empire of Steel for the Sega Mega Drive and CGR has both versions! Blow up bad guys with a blimp or an airplane while rocking out to some Strider-inspired 16 bit tunes, Both vehicles shoot forwards and backwards to destroy enemies all over the screen. Drop the lightning bomb and watch out for tricky boss battles, Steel Empire (or Empire of Steel) is a solid, 2D side scrolling shooter or SHMUP for the Sega Genesis / Sega Megadrive!! Steel Empire features awesome cartridge and packaging artwork from artist, Marc Ericksen, who signed my copy (hooray!). He also did packaging work for Steel Talons, G-Loc, Ikari III, P.O.W., Xybots, Atari 7800 Galaga, Thunder Force II and Herzog Zwei!
