When I beat this level for the first time back in 2014 it took me couple thousand attempts and it was a level that genuinely challenged me for the first time. I thought it was the hardest thing ever, it was like experiencing the “Dry Out” gravity portal for the first time or “Clutterfunk” in general. But it was of course even more mind blowing how amazing and cool this level was. Now let’s get back to the modern day and I think it still holds up quite well. Only thing is that it’s slow because there were no speed portals back then. The level is balanced and looks great. There’s a higher refresh rate bug at 34% but it’s a minor thing, just takes me back in time having to play on 60hz. The balancing is very good in my opinion and overall “Clubstep” is almost perfect for the first Demon difficulty level for new players. In fact when for example I give my personal rating for a level I always compare the level to certain others and “Clubstep” is one of them. If the level is easier than “Clubstep” it should not be rated Demon.
