This game is the product of abandoned ports of Asteroids and the Intellivision game Astrosmash. Arlasoft wanted to find a use for the Asteroid sprites and font, so he took those and some code fragments from both games, shoved in the ship and its bullets from his version of Galaga, plus some sounds from Galaxian DX for good measure.
