Law of the West, developed and published by Accolade in 1985.

"If you've ever wanted to strap on a six-shooter, pin a tin star to your chest and match the exploits of a Bat Masterson or Wyatt Earp, then Law of the West is your chance. You're going to need true grit, and then some, to play it. Because as the Sheriff of Gold Gulch — as tough a Wild West town as there ever was — you'll have all you can do to survive 'til sundown. Standing in your way will be all manner of hardcase gunslingers, desperadoes and dry gulchers looking to rob the town bank, run roughshod over innocent townspeople and plant you in Boot Hill. So, like Masterson in Dodge City and Earp in Tombstone, you'll be forced to face one challenge after another, threatening both your authority and your life."

A short adventure lasting around 10 mins if you can survive until the end of the day. Of course the challenge is about not only making it to sunset but also to come away with a highscore.

Gameplay is simple. You will face 11 scenarios with multiple options on how to tackle them. To make sure no money is lost to crime you ideally need to select the correct responses in order for the kind folk to reveal when a robbery will take place and then take down the criminals in the act. This requires some fast targeting action.

Other criminals will appear and try to test your authority. Ideally you make them drop there weapon and put em in jail or you should gun em down. Allowing them to walk away, even on friendly terms wont do your score any favours. The Mexican can even say he will help you out if needed as he walks away but you don't score well for that.

I don't know what the highest score possible is but I think I am pretty close. If I could have maybe got the shotgunner and gambler to drop his weapon and go to jail, it may have helped. When in a shootout if the enemy fires and misses it seems to knock some points off the score and just maybe how long you take to reply affects it to.

I show three plays in this video. The first going for a highscore, all money saved. A second which is played badly for a low score and a third where I die quickly.

00:00:00 First Play for Highscore
00:09:48 Second play for Low Score
00:18:35 Third play for a quick death.
