0The Combat Advanced Round Submachine Gun is one of many small arms on the frontier that are derived in some way from the enduring R-101C carbine of Lastimosa Armory. It was developed for a more powerful and accurate round than most submachine guns use. This gives the CAR greater stopping power and a longer effective range than its cousin, the R-97.
A lower rate of fire along with surprisingly good recoil mitigation means that even your average Grunt should have no problem keeping this SMG on target. This allows a skilled Pilot to be very accurate in unaimed fire or even while wallrunning. The CAR seems to have gone out of favor after the Frontier War, perhaps because Pilots and wallrunning are things of the past, but it fills a unique niche that could always reappear.
