Connection and Bonds in the Cosmere
893In Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere, one of the most important mechanics that’s lurking in the background is the spiritual attribute Connection. Connection, sometimes referred to as “Capital ‘C’ Connection” by the community, is one of the building blocks of all magic in the Cosmere. In Mistborn it connects allomancers to Preservation so they can use Allomancy, in the Way of Kings connection is strengthened with the Nahel bond with a spren.
In this video, Jason discusses what connection is and how it relates to the two named bonds in the Cosmere. He does this on the planet Taldain, a planet in the Cosmere covered in vast sand dunes that hold a magical secret. Sandmastery. Is this magic like some of the others we’ve seen in the Cosmere before?
