Developed by Codemasters and Supersonic Software, it builds on the miniature racing mayhem of the original Micro Machines, bringing tighter controls, more vehicles, and a whole lot more tracks.
Players race miniature vehicles through oversized environments like kitchen tables, treehouses, science labs, and pool tables. Each environment doubles as an obstacle course, filled with everyday hazards like spilled cereal, open books, and bubbling chemistry sets.
The Genesis version includes a special cartridge with built-in controller ports, allowing up to four players on a single console—no multitap required. Some versions of the game, like the DOS release, come with a track editor, letting players build custom racecourses. Depending on the platform, players can race across 37 to 50 tracks using 12 to 17 different vehicles including cars, boats, and hovercrafts.
