Console Sports Games of 1994 - Hammerlock Wrestling
Releasing in Japan in September 1994, Hammerlock Wrestling, known as Tenryū Gen’ichirō no Puroresu Revolution in Japan, is a fighting/wrestling game developed and published by Jaleco and released on the SNES. A US version of the game was also released on the SNES the following month.
Hammerlock Wrestling features four game modes. The first is Exhibition Match, which is for up to 4 players and can be played as either a 1v1 singles match or a 2v2 tag team match.
Champion League Match is a round-robin style competition where six wrestlers compete in a league structure, with each wrestler competing in five matches and earning points from each match to determine the league champion.
Tournament Mode is a standard 8-wrestler tournament with three knockout rounds. The final mode, Top Ranking Match, pits the player against eleven other wrestlers, with the player needing to defeat all to win the tournament.
