In this video, I show you how to get Contrary Serperior in the Mystery Gift event it has until November 30th, 2015! This Serperior comes at Level 50 with its Hidden Ability Contrary of course, along with the moves Leaf Storm (taking advantage of its Contrary ability!), Hold Back, Wring Out, and Giga Drain.
You can obtain this Contrary Serperior by utilizing the ‘Mystery Gift’ option on the main menu of Omega Ruby and/or Alpha Sapphire, and use the code POKEMON497 to obtain this Pokemon. Soon after Serperior, other Hidden Ability Unova Starters will also be available with similar codes through Mystery Gift.
What does the ability Contrary do?
This Ability causes all effects that would lower a stat of the Pokémon with this Ability to increase it instead, and all effects that would increase a stat of the Pokémon with this Ability to decrease it instead.
This also applies to self-inflicted changes, such as Curse and Leaf Storm. This Ability only reverses the changes when they are applied; it does not passively cause all existing changes to reverse; therefore, if the Ability Contrary is no longer in effect or the stats are Baton Passed, all existing stat modifications remain the same. Stats Baton Passed onto a Pokémon with Contrary are not reversed.
If a move used by a Pokémon with Mold Breaker, Teravolt, or Turboblaze would induce a stat modification in a Pokémon with Contrary, the stat modification will not reverse.
