The Chef's Story is the main plotline in Cooking Diary. It tells the story of the Chef's time in Tasty Hills filled with colorful characters and interesting scenarios.

The story is episodic and told through earning plot stars. Plot stars are earned by completing levels in restaurants. As plot stars are collected, various cutscenes will follow containing a conversation between characters. As episodes are completed, diary entries will be unlocked and filled in the Cooking Diary that summarize the events that took place.
