COPPAcalypse Shmopocalypse
0I suppose it's time for me to chime in on how I feel about the the oncoming storm that I have dubbed the Coppacolypse. Some call it the Toypocalypse, and others are just calling it another adpocalypse. No matter what we call it basically because of Youtube's shady and intrusive data collecting from children protected by COPPA , and the resulting $170 million fine slapped on them by the FTC, we as content creators are getting the short end of the stick. Youtube has struck a deal that leave the liability solely in the hands of each content creator. In the end though it doesn't even matter whether or not my content is intended for a child audience or not because regardless of which box I tick (Intended for children or adults) somebody else who may not know their head from their butthole can still deem my content "for kids". This is hands down the biggest and most blatant show of disregard that Youtube has ever shown to and for it's content creators WHICH ARE THE LIFE BLOOD OF THE ENTIRE PLATFORM!
Ah well.....buckle up Super Friends. The ride is about to get bumpy.
