Corruption huge obstacle in development of country, youth: PM
538Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Kochi, Kerala. PM Modi started his address by wishing the people of Kerala on the occasion of Onam, PM Modi said, “It is a matter of good fortune for me that I have come to Kerala on the special occasion of Onam. Wishing you all a very Happy Onam.”
PM Modi told the people how the central government is sensitive to the needs and aspirations of the people of Kerala. PM Modi said, “The top priority of the central government is to provide basic facilities to the poor, downtrodden, deprived, exploited, tribal, all, to build modern infrastructure in the country”. PM Modi also informed the people of Kerala that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1.3 lakh houses have been constructed.
Talking about the central government’s efforts towards healthcare, PM Modi said, “36 lakh patients of poor families of Kerala, who could not get treatment in case of serious illness, have got their free treatment under Ayushman Bharat scheme.” Furthermore, PM Modi said that his government is also emphasizing opening one medical college in every district of the country.
PM Modi iterated the impetus of his government towards infrastructure for the state of Kerala. The PM shared that projects worth more than 1 lakh crore are being developed in the state, which includes projects like Kochi Metro, Rs. 50,000 crores worth of roads and highways and optic fiber in villages for fast internet.
Talking about the welfare of the farmers in the state, PM Modi said, “Our government is also very sensitive about the interests of the small farmers of the country and our fishermen.” He further added that the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is being given to 37 lakh farmer families of Kerala. So far, about 7,000 crore rupees have been disbursed.
PM Modi informed the people that the Indian economy has been performing well, he iterated the GDP figures and the ever-increasing GST figures to showcase the central government’s continuous increase in its investment in development works. “In the entire country, wherever BJP is ruling in the states, development is on the fast track. This is because of the double-engine govt at the centre and at the state. This very government can help the development of Kerala scale new heights,” he said.
Finally, PM Modi addressed the stark contrast between BJP-led governments and the opposition, He said that today people of Kerala are releasing the sincerity of the BJP government in developing the country. Furthermore, PM Modi recalled how corruption is an obstacle to development and warned people that they should stay away from the political parties that are openly sheltering corruption and the corrupt.
