Cosmic Observatory Challenge mode - Alac Tempest [5:40] | World Record
3did a little grind of the new strike CM with Area. we didn't have much to go on off (no previous records) so comp wise we went with what seemed to be working best in normal mode previously and what we tried since the cm released.
my role was alacrity dps and i wasn't locked into a specific option but i also didn't have much to choose from, it would either be specter or renegade or tempest since condi + ranged is basically a requirement. i didn't try renegade, it would probably be strong as well but i think it would drop alacrity more due to splitting. i tried specter at first and it was ok but i wanted to try tempest because with specter we had basically 0 prot and although you don't need prot because there is no aura tick and you can avoid getting hit by anything, it is still nice to have in case some mechanics overlap (especially when we had to move out during phases). tempest provided a good amount of protection and on top of that a strong heal skill in case someone looses hp and the ability to go into water for regen/extra healing.
other than that my role was to collect special action keys and have them ready for specific moments (although i didn't execute it as good as i could in this pull) which meant i had to move around a bit and combined with the other neccessary spliting the fight has, it made me choose scepter over dagger for higher dps uptime.
probably it can be done faster although i can't really see a much better comp and no heal would be quite risky. the main factor that affects your kill time is how many add champions you get during splits which we didn't seem to have figured out what affects it (might be random). also one extra thing tempest provided is great cleave for the splits where i could also overstack alacrity by overloading air
