This video will show you how to give your ship the ability to be a functional aircraft carrier with the help of this mod called Forge Star Utilities. If interested, you can download the mod on the steam workshop and try it out.

Instructions :

To dock ships the carrier ship must have the "dock" part found in the "landing pads" section, then fly the ship you wish to dock over the dock part (I'd suggest using direct control to pilot the ship over it or having your carrier ship move "under" the docking ship) turn off the thrusters on the docking ship to help with control, then select the carrier ship and in the bottom left should be a lock button, you may need to turn on "advanced controls" in settings
