Amir Taaki is one of the key programmers behind Dark Wallet, a tool which could potentially hide the identity of Bitcoin users.
The US government and European banking authorities are concerned it could be used for money laundering and there are fears it could allow extremist groups to fund their missions.
Speaking to BBC Click's Jen Copestake, Amir Taaki, explains why he believes technology should be open to everybody.
