Council Hope For City Ground Resolution! Can Forest Lower the Rent Demands? | Nottingham Forest News
273Nottingham City Council leader Mr Mellen has come out today to declare his and the councils desire for Nottingham Forest to stay at The City Ground and not move to a new stadium. This comes after the club said they were considering scrapping the stadium redevelopment plans and relocating due to the row over rent.
David Mellen wants the club to stay but also feels the rent increase is only fair, after it was revealed that the council were looking to increasing the rent from £250,000 to £1m. Mr Mellen said: "We think the Trent Bridge area is the best place for the club to remain and we will work with them to achieve a settlement that allows that to happen."
So is this a sign that the City Council are starting to crack under the recent media pressure, and talk of Forest moving to a new stadium.
