I believe this is the thing that's been going on in one comment section - as said, I dunno if this is an issue with older PS1 games in general or specific to Crash Bandicoot, but eh. It's not an issue of un file di salvataggio corrotto, it's the game just interpreting it oddly.
Similar issue happens with the SCED-02904 disc GT2 file download, utility says 5 blocks, visuals show 4, BIOS and some games show 5 blocks, Crash 1 insists that it's 4.

- Knockout Kings 2001 - Career save (SLES-03121 - PAL/E)
- Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? 2nd Edition (SLES-03589 - PAL/UK)
(Possibly all the PAL versions of WWTBAM 2nd Edition and even PAL 3rd Editions do this as well, plus possibly all versions of KK2001.)
