Crimson Clover - Stage 1

Welcome to Crimson Clover.
Simple Mode could be falsly interpreted as an "easy" mode, which it isn't really. It is a variation of the Normal or Original Mode with it's own difficulties to come along.
First off, this mode gives you two reloadable Bombs. They fill up over time as long as you kill enemies. These bombs though arent't just simply means of destroying all enemies on screen.
The Bomb-Meter also defines your Rank, this means for every Bomb you have available, be it 0, 1 or 2, enemies shoot more bullets and get faster in doing so, making the game more difficult I you are good enough to not bomb all the time (I am trying to bomb not too much and keep the rank up).
Secondly, if your Rank is full, that means having 2 bombs, you can farm enemies for Stars by standing directly under them (most appaerent at bosses). Stars don't do anything for you throughout the game but are the games currency to unlock different modes, music for the sound test and, player-charakters and many other things. Even though I don't really nead them for much anymore I try to get as many as possible (which includes not choosing to get an extra life at the end of each stage).
