Instead of a convoluted series of side quests like in the original Octopath, the second installment in the series gives us a more straightforward way of unlocking the truth behind everything and reaching the crossed path. In addition to the main story itself, you have four sets of quests where four groups of two come together to solve something that has a greater significance in the whole.
The lyrics of the song Hikari hears are nearly perfect and Chekovian in terms of what will happen and why they need the mirror from the Temenos/Throne plotline. With the benefit of hindsight, this is one of the biggest foreshadowing moments in the game as it details very early on EXACTLY what will happen, and it is kinda frightening.
