Compilation of the best plays from Magisk at IEM Katowice Major 2019!
The 20-year-old capped off a fantastic individual tournament with a 1.28 rating in the 2-0 victory against ENCE. He was only the fourth-best rated player on Astralis in that match but still ended the tournament with the highest playoff rating on the team, 1.37.
That ended up being the deciding factor in the race for the MVP award and what set him apart from teammate Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, who was another strong contender for the medal.
Nicolai "device" Reedtz, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev were all also in the running for the honour but ultimately fell out of contention, with Sami "xseveN" Laasanen being the only ENCE member worthy of a mention.
Magisk had the highest KAST of the tournament (80.0%) and was in the top five in six other stats categories, including rating (1.28), damage difference per round (+16.2) and percentage of support rounds (25.3%).
This is the second MVP medal of his career, after also claiming the honour at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon, the last tournament of 2018. He also becomes the third different player to be named the MVP in Astralis' Major winning runs, after Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, who is currently playing for North, and device.
