Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora (born May 14, 2002) is a Swedish-Spanish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player.
Dennis "dennis" Edman has been moved to the bench of NiP to make room for the addition of Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, with the organization also revealing that they are looking to move Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund out of an active player role when a suitable replacement is found.
Plopski, the 17-year-old rifler, is joining NiP from Ancient, a team that recently qualified for the Europe Minor and finished second at DreamHack Open Summer. On the other side, dennis is the one making room for the youngster, being moved to the bench just two months after he was reintroduced into the starting lineup following a personal break.
Plopski has averaged a 1.16 rating over the last three months
Due to roster lock rules, Plopski will not be able to represent NiP at the StarLadder Berlin Major, so the team will "be using this opportunity to test new players in different roles", according to their statement.
The team's coach Faruk "pita" Pita stressed that the goal of the roster change is to maintain a position as a top tier team:
"Today we embark on the journey of transforming the Counter-Strike team. To maintain a position as a top tier team, changes to the roster are needed. We have very talented players, but the roles required on the team is something we have to change to make sure we perform at a stable level over time. I am excited to take on these changes with the first step of welcoming Plopski to the team." - pita
The young addition to the squad didn't hide his excitement with the opportunity to represent NiP:
"I am extremely happy to be getting this opportunity. For me, this is a dream come true. Since I was a kid I have always liked this team and it has been my goal to play for them. I still can’t believe this.
"My ambition is to play CS:GO and be happy doing it for as many years as possible. I want to win, to keep getting to know amazing people and work harder than ever. I feel NiP is the perfect place for me to keep pursuing my goals.
"I can’t wait to start playing with these really talented players. I am sure I will learn a lot from them." - Plopski
With the change, NiP now have the following roster:
Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund
Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson
Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora
Faruk "pita" Pita (coach)
Dennis "dennis" Edman (benched)
Alongside the announcement of Plopski's addition, NiP revealed that they started talks with GeT_RiGhT "regarding his future as an active CS:GO player". The 29-year-old will continue competing with NiP until after the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 as they start the search for a "suitable long-term replacement". The organization also noted that they will take their time with this change to ensure they find the best replacement, while aiming to transition GeT_RiGhT to a different role within NiP.
GeT_RiGhT has spent his entire CS:GO career representing NiP and was crucial to the team establishing their dominant era early on. The Swede was the best player in the world two years in a row, in 2013 and 2014. His only Major win came in 2014, at ESL One Cologne, but he amassed 23 LAN wins and 10 MVP awards during his seven years as a Ninja.
