Campaign Description...
“The Survivors find themselves in a strange world, and must find a way to get out of the danger zone.

A L4D2 entry to the Orange Map phenomenon. Featuring wide-open terrain, plenty of unique quirks, and a visit from some special guests. Ideal for casual play. “

An orange map in its purest form... but is this a good thing?...

+ Positive
\ Neutral
- Negative

Aesthetics
- Proportions of the environment were just ludicrous...
+ Good and believable survivor dialogue...
\ Pure Orange map...
- No defining features among the rooms...
\ That loading poster (fixed now)

Gameplay
- Little to no cover for infected...
- Long periods of walking through empty and featureless areas...
+ Fair amount of supplies...
\ Decent horde events... but they suffer from the same size problems...
\ Can get lost due to lack of landmarks... but it is unlikely...

Performance
+ Runs fantastic because of orange map...
+ No apparent crashes of conflicts...

Finale
+ Where to go for escape was obvious enough...
+ L4D1 survivor support...
- Wide open area with little cover for all...
- Incapped survivors not being at the escape stops the escape...
\ Gauntlet to escape is questionable...

Final Verdict
Neutral...

An orange map in its purest form... Only using props when necessary, and only using dev textures...

I've said it before back when I did one for “The orange”... and if I didn't say it, I definitely will now...
Orange maps aren't easy to make... as weird as that sounds... hear me out...

In an orange map... you have more or less only two textures... the geometry is ofter basic, and detailing is as limited as possible... an orange map is essentially an unfinished map...
So the only thing left... and I do mean the ONLY thing left is gameplay...
You no longer have great visuals or nostalgic circumstances to cover up mistakes... You are putting everything into one basket... and you better have made a good basket... else things get messy...

So Orange Onslaught... not the best, but not the worst...
Sub-part visuals, even for an orange map... and shacks the size of a football stadium... Large, undefined rooms with three story height ceilings... The size works against the amp in all areas...

You now have to walk ten fold what you would if the map was proportionally normal... wide open execution lanes everywhere for the infected... and more than enough dead spots due to where the infected are spawning because of sight lines... The map is fairly easy because of this...

As far as gameplay is concerned... Average...
Nothing to write home about... with the normal slow moving door to open and what not... as harmed by sheer size of the arenas...

Finale was the weak link...
Large open arena with mounted guns covering the ludicrous sight lines... then a run down a oneway staircase... to the escape... which will not leave if someone is incapped outside the zone... THIS right here would dock a lot of points if I still worked on that format... The escape sequence is meant to be the last ditch effort... and the tension of having to leave someone behind to live is a core component of having a satisfying end...
Not only does this one against literally every other finale ever made, and ruin that tension... but you possible create a frustrating scenario where the last living player is killed in the vehicle... because someone was incapped on the surface... and is slowly bleed-out... very slowly...

Overall... Average... maybe a bit below to be frank...
Nothing to speak of... but not many thing to condemn either...
