Today's video is a visual feast showcasing the new "Ray Tracing: Overdrive" graphics mode technology preview, which implements full path tracing in CP2077 for mind-blowing, physically accurate lighting. With this mode turned on, every single emissive source casts light that bounces multiple times and casts soft shadows from every single object, rendering scenes that approach photorealism. This is extremely computationally intensive and comes at a massive performance cost, but with the help of DLSS2 and DLSS3, it's possible to get playable framerates on high-end modern GPUs. While this kind of rendering isn't yet practical on most hardware, it provides a peek at the future of game graphics, and as you can probably tell from this video, I'm hyped for it!
