This last week, CD Projekt Red, creators of the beloved Witcher games franchise, and the upcoming, and highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, announced that they were confident that they would still be able to hit the September 17th release date, regardless of the current global pandemic. But how can they be so sure?

Ultimately, there are many hurdles still standing in CD Projekt's way, but I think that even if they are unable to print enough discs and distribute them, they will still release the game as a digital download. This has never been attempted for a game this big, but I think with CD Projekt's origins, and the current state of gaming, this might be the first major title to get a digital only release.
