This is a shim (wrapper, translation layer) that performs full fixed function pipeline emulation of D3D8 in D3D11. Tested in Sonic Adventure DX PC and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King PC. Both are indistinguishable from their native D3D8 originals.

Performance isn't perfect -- GPU load can be quite high sometimes, but it's a work in progress. LotR: RotK is a phenomenal benchmark due to its extensive particle system. Particles are used effectively in the place of fog, producing a pseudo-volumetric effect. It's quite impressive. The PS2 and GameCube versions both handle them like a champ. Can't say the same for the Xbox version, though... 👀
