In 1996, the BBC showed a superb documentary series about the history of music called ‘Dancing in the Street.’
I learned so much as a teenager watching this series and discovered so many of my favourite bands as a direct result of the series.
‘No Fun’ tells the story of Punk Rock, from its beginnings in New York to its spikier British counterpart and finally its weaving in of Ska and Reggae.
I do not own this material, which is owned by the BBC. But as it’s not commercially available on dvd or has never been reshown, I hope more people get to see it here.
