Dante's Inferno | Gates of Hell Arena | Waves 11-20
There are 50 "waves" in the Gates of Hell Arena. To make this easier, you can position the difficulty setting to suite your individual skill level. Having gone through the game twice (once on Normal mode, and once on Resurrection mode), and thus having the ability to upgrade all of your abilities and relics, will greatly help for this challenge. This arena is not only a Survival Arena because you can still lose even if you are still alive but run out of time. You start out the challenge with 5 minutes on the clock. Since 5 minutes will not carry you through all fifty waves, you have to accumulate sections of extra time which will all be added on to the clock by the computer. Your first goal (at least in the first part of the challenge) in the easier beginning waves should be to "Punish" every enemy that can be grabbed with the scythe and killed with a judgment kill. You get five seconds of extra time for each enemy that you either punish or absolve. Generally, for the skeletons and the unbaptised babies, stick to solely "punishing" them, because the QTE (Quick Time Event) takes up less time than does the one for absolving the enemies. Your second goal in the beginning waves (where the enemies aren't too difficult) is to get through as many waves without getting hit; if you take no damage during a wave, you are rewarded with a 15 second time "untouchable" bonus. You also receive a 30 second bonus for completing a wave; and added to the "untouchable" bonus and the many smaller "Unholy/Holy Path" time bonuses that you can accumulate, you can actually rack up a lot of extra time. You will need all the time you can get. From the standpoint of one who has gone through the game twice, I would say that that course of action is necessary for victory here. You may be able to get away with a victory on the easiest mode, but it still might be difficult if you haven't gone through Resurrection mode. Make sure your Holy and Unholy powers are both at level 7, that you have purchased all the Holy and Unholy abilities, and that you have maxed out all of your relics. Ideal relics to have equipped for the arena: (1) Ciaco's Bile, which grants Dante persistent mana regeneration; (2) Stone of Wrath (DLC Relic), which decreases the cost of magic; (3) St. Lucia's Wrath (DLC Relic), which makes Dante's cross attacks unblockable to enemies; and (4) Lord's Blessing, which increases the damage of all Cross attacks and abilities.
