I've only fought this boss twice in the entirety of dark souls 2, first time around 2013 when Dark souls 2 came out and a year later, I never actually beat him, so I wanted to test my skills and see how far I've come. So i decided to fight him last night, he wasn't as hard as I expected him to be, probably because I've had year's to improve, as you can see, I kicked his ass to kingdom come. But in all seriousness, he's pretty challenging at least for the base game fight, this Boss and Smelter demon Red are my favorite bosses in the base game.
