The game thrusts players into the role of Hayden Tenno, an elite black-ops agent sent on a dangerous mission into a decaying Eastern European city that hides a deadly Cold War secret. Attacked by an unknown enemy, he awakens to find part of his body altered by an infection that has granted him inhuman abilities; now he must learn to evolve along with his powers, to survive and to become a hero.
Description:
Dark Sector is an action game, in which the player assumes the role of Hayden Tenno, an elite black-ops agent, sent into Lasria, a small USSR country, tasked with the objective of destroying a virus that turns people into mutants and eliminating it's creator, Mezner.
Upon finding Mezner, Hayden is infected with the virus himself, mutating his right arm, which in turn gives him certain abilities, like turning invisible, creating shields and most importantly the ability to use the glaive, a special knife-like weapon that Hayden can use both in melee and ranged combat.
Next to the powers the infection grants him, Hayden can also use firearms, like shotguns or pistols, which can be taken from enemies or bought from the Black Market, and can also be modified.

Dark Sector thrusts players into the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative sent on a dangerous mission into Lasria, an Eastern European city on the brink of ruin that hides a deadly Cold War secret. In the midst of this mission, Hayden is attacked by an unknown enemy and infected by the Technocyte Virus, a brutal bio-weapon that twists its victims into mindless killing machines. Surviving this attack, Hayden finds that the Technocyte virus has granted him powerful, inhuman abilities unlike anything he has ever seen. Now, he must evolve with his powers, survive and become a hero.
- All new, all original action-shooter: Throughout the course of the game, players will witness Hayden's transformation into something more than he was as he fights against the Technocyte Virus taking over his body and the effects it has on his psyche.
