Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Part 14
1Streamed/Recorded on 1-15-21. Engaging in jolly cooperation in Dark Souls 2,played by myself and Gandalf on Steam. With the 1st DLC completed,we now move on to the 2nd DLC: Crown of the Old Iron King. This takes place in the area known as Brume Tower. In this place,you'll need an item called Smelter Wedges to deal with the Ashen Idols scattered around the area. These things will otherwise Curse you,grant Warmth and Regen to enemies,or even resurrect dead enemies. Other enemies of note are ones that carry explosive barrels,and giant enemies that also drip lava from their shoulders at random. At least the enemies here can be staggered,unlike most enemies from the 1st DLC. We mainly just explored in this part since getting around the area takes quite a while. But we eventually fought the boss Blue Smelter Demon in the Iron Hallway. The Iron Hallway is one of the worst areas of any Souls game for me. It's packed full of tough/annoying enemies and it's just a gauntlet to reach the boss area with very little room to maneuver. Blue Smelter Demon himself is no pushover either! If you're playing solo,I suggest killing the enemies enough times to make them not respawn after a while. It takes a lot longer,but it means having more supplies for the boss and being much less of a hassle.
