Dark Souls runs great in Proton with DSFix and the following Launch Options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Don't forget to disable Anti-Aliasing and Motion Blurr in game before initiating DSFix and configuring the ini file.
Clearly this game isn't made for keyboard/mouse, there is a lot of movement stutter any time I touch the mouse. Unfortunately my Amazon Xbox Basics controller didn't work.
