Barker Bomb Baits work pretty well in Dark Souls 3 especially earlier on in the game's life when people didn't see it as much in general. They work well in DS3 because of the inherit flow of actions the game encourages though. With Dark Souls 1/Remastered movement being slower, shields being stronger, and a few other notable differences the classic parry bait doesn't really work but that doesn't mean it doesn't work at all.

Note: It took me a lot of invasions just to find people who would roll forward at a bomb throw in DSR.
