1Hi everyone and welcome to a new and exciting playthrough series with caramida9. This is Remnant 2, and most people have described it as essentially just dark souls but with guns. Remnant II pits survivors of humanity against new deadly creatures and god-like bosses across terrifying worlds. Play solo or co-op with two other friends to explore the depths of the unknown to stop an evil from destroying reality itself.
Your journey in Remnant 2 starts in Eastport, where you and Cass are looking for the entrance to Ward 13—one of the last sanctuaries in the world. The path throughout the Prologue is relatively linear, so keep moving through the streets of Eastport until you run into a locked door.
Climb up the boxes to the side and unlock the door from the inside. Make your way to the nearby building covered in Root Rot; here, you'll get to test the game's gun combat for the first time on a Root Beast. Continue down the hall of the building, and drop down through the hole in the floor to reach the sewer. When you make it to the central system of the sewer, you'll need to kill off the horde of Root Beasts until the cutscene plays.
"Dying" to the horde is part of the sequence that'll trigger the cutscene.
After meeting Bo and Clementine, follow them as they'll lead you to Ward 13.
The Root Mantis is the first Remnant 2 boss you must fight. The overall fight is a glimpse of what a boss fight will look like when playing co-op.
The Root Mantis fight is relatively simple, as most of its attacks are melee oriented. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the game's basic combat mechanics, such as dodging, grabbing aggro, gun switching, etc.
Killing the boss will reward you with a Root Ganglia, a crafting material you can later use to make weapon mods.
