11Darkest dungeon 2 is an amazing turn-based RPG roguelike, known for its brutal difficulty and famous predecessor. If you loved the original Darkest Dungeon, know that Darkest Dungeon 2 has many familiar systems, characters, style, and narrator, but is a fundamentally different game in many ways. In this complete beginners guide to Darkest dungeon 2, I will explain to you the basics from the ground up by starting a brand new campaign so you can watch and even play along. I create the guide so that players of the original game and players new to the series will be able to follow along and learn the skills to survive. I will explain the controls, the UI, the mechanics, how to battle, manage your inventory, skills, and resources, and explore the map. I detail my thought process, sharing tips and tricks along the way but I spoil nothing about the game or the story. I don't force a particular path or tell you to min/max, but rather help by providing the fundamentals so you can enjoy Darkest dungeon 2 at your own pace. If you are thinking of buying the game and want to see early gameplay, or have purchased it but would like some pointers on the basics, this is the guide for you! I played the game a lot in early access, and let me say that the full release has many significant changes (for the better, in my opinion).
