In Darksiders II there are places that are supposed to be reached once you have completed specific requirements, The Lost Temple one being the biggest transgressor here. Playing out the cutscene at the end of the level means you have to travel the entirety of the level again to reach the chest right at the end. With the combination of the "hellraiser" attach and either an axe or a hammer, you are able to bypass some sections of the game without the need of the Soul Split or the Portal weapon. Using these techniques means you can clear out an entire zone on one visit. At least in some instances.
